Press ReleaseNEW YORK, US, 6 April 2008 — The Tibetan Olympics torch relay in New York City is a part of the Tibetan Olympics 2008, to be held in Dharamshala from May 15-25. The Tibetan Olympics consists of ten sporting events attempted by each individual, competing for men and women's championships. On its around-the-world tour, the torch was lit in Delhi at the end of January, and has travelled to Sydney, Taiwan, Dharamshala, Tokyo, Maui and San Francisco. After New York City, it will go onwards to Rio de Janeiro, London, Cape Town and Tel Aviv, returning to Dharamshala in May. read AnnouncementNEW YORK CITY, US, 6 April 2008 — Due to some technical problems, the Tibetan Olympics torch relay date in New York City has been changed. Instead of Sunday, it will be held on Monday afternoon.
Venue: The torch will be lit in front of the UN headquarters on Monday, 7 April.
