PAIA, Hawaii, 24 March 2008 (Maui News) — The Maui Dharma Center led dozens of marchers through the entrance to Baldwin Beach Park during the Maui Torch Relay late Sunday morning. Participants were hoping to raise awareness about the treatment of the Tibetan people by the Chinese government, which invaded the formerly independent nation in 1959. read

PAIA, Hawaii, 22 March 2008 — The Maui Dharma Center and The Tibetan Community of Maui announces the "Tibetan Olympics Torch Relay: A Peace March For Human Rights in Tibet and Around the World" which will take place on Sunday, 23 March 2008. The Tibetan Olympics, which will be held in Dharamshala, India, from 15 to 25 May, and before the world games in Beijing this summer, is an initiative to offer a platform for the Tibetans to speak out and bring world attention and awareness to China's continuing abuse of the Tibetan Nation and the denial of Human Rights to her people. read
MCLEOD GANJ, India, 17 March 2008 — The Maui (Hawaii) leg of the Tibetan Olympics torch relay will begin at 11 am. It will start from Maui Dharma Center, Paia, and finish at Baldwin Beach Park, which will be more than an hour's walk.
